In what has become an annual rite, I add a post in the blog each June (or thereabouts) that commemorates the anniversary of Gain’s founding.
(By way of reference, here are the retrospectives from last year, two years ago, our 6th anniversary, 5th anniversary, 4th anniversary, 3rd anniversary, and first. I skipped this exercise for some forgotten reason in 2018 for what was our 2nd anniversary.)
So, here’s what’s new….
The update for outsiders is a little boring. Gain’s story is one of deliberate execution, and our ninth year was marked by continued progress in:
- Product: our software solution continued to evolve and improve as we rolled out key features that increased efficiency for users and improved data quality.
- Customer Experience: We invested significantly in educational resources, including new, in-application functionality, which provide contextual assistance for reporting teams on NAIC updates. This was supplemented by new hires on the Customer Success team in key roles.
- Sales: we continued our work to communicate the benefits for carriers to transition from their legacy solution to Gain’s modern platform.
To insiders – customers, employees, and investors – the results are far more exciting. The beauty of SaaS companies with excellent product-market fit is that incremental gains compound over time.
For example, along the same three dimensions above, here are what insiders are seeing:
- Product: we have hit a critical mass of functionality where our product is now obviously superior to our competitors’ solutions along every dimension.
- Customer Experience: in increasingly stark contrast to our competitors, we are committed to a highly-personalized support model that translates to a close partnership with our customers.
- Sales: we are winning new and bigger customers at an accelerating pace.
The longer the timeframe, the greater the effects of compounding.
Year 9 was a lot of fun; Year 10 will be even better.
