The Blanks Working Group (“BWG”) held a conference call on August 7, 2024, to review and consider the adoption of two previously exposed positions. Both items were adopted and will be effective January 1, 2025.
Adopted Items
The items below were adopted with minor editorial updates and/or with additional comments (i.e. friendly amendments) from the BWG, regulators, or other interested parties. All adoptions are applicable to either the Life/Fraternal, Property, Health or Title blanks, as specified by “L” for Life/Fraternal, “P” for Property, “H” for Health, and “T” for Title, or some combination thereof. As noted above, the adopted items are effective for the 2025 Quarterly Statement.
- 2024-11BWG Modified: This item updates the Quarterly and Annual instructions and blanks for the changes to SSAP No. 93 – Low Income Housing Tax Credit Property Investments and SSAP No. 94R – Transferable and Nontransferable State Tax Credits resulting from the New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) project. The changes to the SSAPs were adopted by the Statutory Accounting Principles Working Group (SAPWG) on March 16, 2024 as detailed in AP&P Ref #2022-14. Modifications will be made to the quarterly Assets page, Schedule BA, Part 3 and Verification Between Years. Changes to the 2025 Annual Statement will be made to Assets, Notes 5.K, 14.A and 21.E, the Asset Valuation Reserve and Schedule BA, Parts 1 and 3 and Verification Between Years. (L/P/H/T/SA)
- 2024-12BWG Modified: This item updates the quarterly investment schedules for editorial items to the bond project (Schedule D Verification, Schedule D, Part 1B, Schedule D, Parts 3 and 4, Schedule DL, Parts 1 and 2 and Schedule E, Parts 1 and 2). It updates the Quarterly Investment Schedule General Instructions for the changes that were adopted in the Annual Investment Schedule General Instructions. The editorial revisions are in reference to the adopted proposal 2023-06BWG Modified. (L/P/H/T/SA)
