SSAP and Blank Updates to the Statutory Financial Statements – August 26, 2026 BWG Conference Call

The Blanks Working Group (“BWG”) held a conference call on August 26, 2026 to review seven previously exposed positions. Four of the items were adopted and will be effective with the 2027 Quarterly or Annual Statements, unless otherwise noted.

Adopted Items

The items below were adopted with minor editorial updates and/or with additional comments (i.e. friendly amendments) from the BWG, regulators, or other interested parties. All adoptions are applicable to either the Life/Fraternal, Property, Health, Title or Separate Account blanks, as specified by “L” for Life/Fraternal, “P” for Property, “H” for Health, “T” for Title and “SA” for Separate Accounts, or some combination thereof.

  • 2026-13BWG Modified: This item adds an active status code column to the Cybersecurity Insurance Coverage Supplement, Part 5 and to the Private Flood Insurance Supplement, Parts 2 through 6 to identify the active status for each state. The addition of the active status will allow a user to determine if the policies are being written in the admitted or nonadmitted market. (P)
  • 2026-14BWG: This item updates the Schedule P instructions with revisions exposed at the Casualty Actuarial and Statistical (C) Task Force. The revisions primarily clarify reporting requirements and remove incorrect or outdated information. (P)
  • 2026-15BWG Modified: This item updates the “CUSIP” column throughout the 2027 quarterly and annual investment schedules to be a “Security Identifier” column, allowing for different types of identifiers such as CUSIP, CINS, PPN, ISIN, and LXID. A new Security ID Type column will be included to disclose which security identifier is being used and all remaining columns will be renumbered. The electronic-only ISIN column will be removed and all references to CUSIP throughout the instructions will be changed to Security Identifier when the instructions are not specifically referring to CUSIP. (L/P/H/T/SA)
  • 2026-17BWG: This item updates the annual General Interrogatory 25.04 and 25.05 to change “amount of collateral” to “assets lent”. The Note 5.L(1) category “Collateral held under security lending agreements” (Line 5.L(1)b) will be changed to “Assets lent under security lending agreements”. See SAPWG Ref #2026-05 for additional information. (L/P/H/T)
