Senior Product Manager

Join Our Team and Lead the Way in Building Exceptional SaaS Products and Maturing Product Practices!

We need your expertise to take our team to new heights. As our second Senior Product Manager, you’ll play a key role in creating amazing SaaS products and helping us elevate our product practices to the next level.

We have a successful product that serves financial reporting teams in the insurance industry, and are looking for someone to help us grow the business and mature practices for a healthy product-lead organization. We are looking for someone who will thrive in a small scrappy company that has a lot of talent, is filled with delightful humans, and has a real opportunity to capitalize on our early successes in the industry.

In this role, you will use your curiosity to discover and amplify the customers’ voice, drive a product roadmap to accomplish our business goals, refine our product practices, and work with our product team to build world-class software products.

…so, why are we hiring for this role? Because the past 7 years have been a fast hustle to stand up a basic application, get loads of paying customers on board, and show ourselves that we’re onto something big. And you know what? We did it! We’ve proven that we’re a force to be reckoned with, and now we’re ready to take things to the next level, delight the remaining 80% of the market, and even whip up some fresh new products!

It’s time to invest in capable product leaders, hone our product practices, and master the art of crystal-clear communication so we can grow as a stable and scalable business. And, we want someone like you to join us on this incredible journey and to help us make it happen.

The Work

A product manager’s role can be vast, and it’s kinda tricky to enumerate all the specifics, but we think this list does a good job explaining the kind of work you’ll be doing.

  • You’ll dream up and communicate a clear product strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • You’ll lead the product roadmap alongside a cross-functional team of high ownership individuals.
  • You’ll interact with our customers with curiosity to understand their needs and synthesize their voices into a winning product that helps them be great at their jobs.
  • You’ll help us mature our product practices: sitting with engineers, delving into details, scoping work, defining hypotheses, and experimenting to evolve our product. (oh yeah, we don’t have a product designer, but we have a couple of excellent product-design minded engineers)
  • You’ll tirelessly communicate with everyone (our staff, our customers, the founders, and your peers). You’ll be working in slack, in email, in newsletters, in blog posts, and in zoom calls, while constantly reinforcing the important details in every place you touch.

Let’s Talk About You

This job isn’t for everyone. Not only is a product manager a broad and nebulous role, we’re also looking for someone who is motivated to evolve our product practices in a small, 40 person, company.

  • Killer communications skills across a variety of formats. So much of this job is broadcasting context in slack, meetings, documents, and jira. You don’t need to have all the answers but you need to prepare the teams to have the right info to make great decisions.
  • Unquenchable curiosity! A comfort with the unknown; an appetite to dive in and understand customers, experiment with solutions, and celebrate when a hypothesis is invalidated.
  • Geek out about best practices for product work. We are agile, though not in buzzwordy and process jargon – but about the idea of continuous improvement! You should love defining and refining how we get our work done, especially when starting from an existing place that could use a little love.
  • Team minded collaborator. You’ll be joining our existing senior product manager and recently hired senior program manager. Oh, and a team of engineers, half of whom were hired in the last year.
  • Challenging assumptions and flexing your agency. You’ll be reporting to one of the founders, which is a blast, but also requires you to establish trust and then advocate for the changes we need to make to accomplish our goals.
  • Care for customers, one of the hallmarks of our company is our laser-focus on customers. You’ll be meeting with them, evaluating their use patterns, and working to make their jobs easier when they use our product.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including equity options and a 401(k) plan.
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment, where your ideas and contributions are valued and respected.
  • The opportunity to work on a product that is disrupting the financial reporting industry and making a real difference in the lives of our customers.
  • Professional development opportunities and the chance to grow your career as we continue to expand and scale.
